A wellness reset does not have to mean juice-only diets or punishing workouts. This 5-day plan adds one small habit each day and keeps the ones before it, so by day five you have a simple routine that fits around work, school runs and everyday life in the UAE.
It works at any time of year, although the cooler months from October to April make the outdoor parts easier. If you are fasting during Ramadan, there is a note near the end on how to adapt it.
How the plan works
Each day has one focus, and you carry the earlier habits with you. So Day 3 includes hydration and movement as well as the new food swaps. Nothing here is extreme. The aim is steadier energy, better routines and meals that feel good, not a quick fix.
Day 1: Hydration
Hydration matters even more here than in cooler climates. Between the summer heat, time outdoors and long hours in air conditioning, which dries the air, it is easy to drink less than you need without noticing.
- Start each meal with a large glass of water.
- Keep a reusable bottle on your desk and in the car, and sip through the day. Around 2 litres is a sensible starting point, more if you are active or outside in the heat.
- Add flavour with cucumber, mint or a squeeze of lemon or lime.
- Snack on water-rich fruit such as watermelon and oranges.

Simple infused water
Add 10 slices of cucumber, 2 to 4 slices of lemon and a handful of fresh mint to 2 litres of cold water, then leave it in the fridge for an hour. For more flavour, press a couple of oranges or limes with the f900 Automatic Citrus Juicer and add the juice to the jug. You press the fruit onto the cone and the motor starts by itself.
Day 2: Stretching and a daily walk
Keep up the water, and add ten minutes of stretching in the morning plus a brisk 15 to 20 minute walk.
Gentle stretching can help ease stiffness from desk work and long drives, and a short walk supports circulation and mood. Slow, deep breathing while you stretch is a simple way to feel calmer before the day starts.
In the cooler months, early mornings are ideal for walking outside, around your community, along the corniche or in a local park. In summer, walk before sunrise or after sunset, or use a treadmill or a mall walk instead. Always take water with you.
Day 3: Eat this, not that
Today is about simple food swaps. Whole foods tend to keep you fuller for longer and give steadier energy than heavily processed snacks.
- Lentils, chickpeas and beans instead of white pasta
- Porridge oats instead of sugary cereal
- Hummus with vegetable sticks instead of crisps
- Plain Greek yoghurt or laban instead of flavoured yoghurt
- Grilled chicken or fish instead of deep-fried
- Unsalted nuts and a few dates instead of biscuits
- Sparkling water with lime instead of fizzy drinks
If you love crispy food, an air fryer oven makes the swap easier. The f66 Super Oven cooks chicken, fish, falafel and roasted vegetables with little or no oil. It has 12 presets and a PFAS, PTFE and PFOA free coating, so there is no Teflon.
Try the 80% rule
The Japanese saying "hara hachi bu" means eating until you are about 80% full. Eat slowly, start with a smaller portion and keep your phone away from the table. It gives your body time to notice that it is satisfied.
Day 4: Fresh juices and smoothies
Add one fresh juice or smoothie a day. It is an easy way to eat more fruit and vegetables, and it counts towards your hydration too. Have it alongside meals rather than instead of them.

Green juice
- 2 handfuls of spinach
- 1 green apple
- 1 cucumber
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Optional: a small piece of fresh ginger
The f2500 Self Feeding Whole Fruit Juicer, a Which? Best Buy, takes whole apples and cucumbers with no chopping, and its cold press action gives a smooth juice. For smaller, stronger drinks, read our guide to juice shots.
Mango and spinach smoothie
- 1 small ripe mango or 1 banana
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- A handful of spinach
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
Blend until smooth. The rechargeable f500 Portable Blender is handy here: blend at home, then take it to the office or the gym.
Tip: have a juice in the morning and a smoothie in the afternoon for variety.
Day 5: Put it all together
Today you simply do all four habits:
- Hydration: water before meals and a bottle with you all day.
- Movement: a 10-minute stretch and a 20-minute walk.
- Food: whole grains, pulses, vegetables and the 80% rule.
- Juices and smoothies: one fresh drink a day.
After the five days, keep what feels good and drop what does not. Small habits you can repeat are worth more than a strict week you cannot.
A note for Ramadan
If you are fasting, you can adapt the plan rather than pause it. Spread your water between iftar and suhoor instead of drinking a lot at once, break your fast with dates and water, and go easy on fried food. A smoothie at suhoor can be a gentle start, and a walk after iftar can replace the morning one. If you have a health condition, speak to your doctor before changing how you eat while fasting.
FAQs
Is this a detox?
Not in the strict sense, as your liver and kidneys already do that job. This plan is about simple habits that can help you feel more energised and settled.
How much water should I drink in the UAE heat?
Around 2 litres a day is a sensible starting point, but you may need more if you exercise or spend time outdoors. Pale yellow urine is a useful everyday guide.
Can I replace meals with juice?
We do not recommend it. Juices and smoothies work best alongside balanced meals, not instead of them.
Which juicer is best for green juice?
A cold press juicer such as the f2500 handles leafy greens, apples and cucumber well, and its wide chute saves chopping. For oranges, lemons and limes, the f900 is quicker.
